Terms and Conditions

1. The pupil certifies that a valid licence is held to drive the tuition vehicle, also inform their instructor immediately if they receive any endorsements on their licence during the period, they are receiving tuition.

2. In the event of mechanical breakdown or other difficulty outside the control of the instructor, he holds the right to re-arrange lessons at short notice.

3. A minimum of 24-hour notice is required to be given to the instructor by the pupil to cancel a lesson and should the pupil fail to give such notice the Pupil may be liable to pay the full tuition fee.

4. A lesson is of two-hour duration. If for any reason outside the instructor’s control it is not possible to give the full two-hour instruction, then any lost time will be added to a later lesson.

5. The price paid for the driving test fee does not include the use of the school car for the test and/or any prior instruction. Current car hire rates will apply. (£150.00).

6. Payment for all tuition hours must be paid at time of booking. The instructor will only wait 15 minutes for the pupil at the meeting point, if the pupil is late then all booked hours will be charged as normal.

We reserve the right to change our rates with reasonable prior notification to the pupil.

LEGAL LIABILITY

7. The pupil should be aware that the instructor’s primary objective is to promote road safety and in doing so, he/she may take control of the vehicle. The instructor will make every effort to instruct the pupil to the highest standards but can in no way be held liable for any errors that the Pupil may make whilst driving and not accompanied by the instructor either before or after a test pass.

8. The instructor will endeavour to teach the pupil the correct driving skills according to the recommended syllabus issued by the DVSA driving skills, within a minimum number of lessons.

9. Driving Tests may only be arranged with the prior agreement of both the Instructor and the Pupil.

10. Any complaints are to be dealt with in accordance with the ADI Code of Practice.

11. The instructor is at liberty at his/her discretion to refuse to proceed with a lesson if he or she has reason to believe that the pupil is in any way under the influence of drink or drugs at the time of the lesson, pupil is liable for the hours booked.

12. The instructor will accept no liability for accidents, injury, or damage to any third party caused by the pupil’s recklessness or negligence during a lesson or test.

13. The instructor reserves the right to withhold the use of his/her vehicle for a driving test. Before booking a practical Driving Tests, an ADI reference number will be supplied to confirm the readiness of the student driver’s ability for the test and for use of the Driving School vehicles.

REFUND POLICY

14. If a pre-pay deal is not completed for whatever reason by either party any unused training time will be re-calculated at the normal lesson hourly rate, this will only be done if the school agrees to a refund in advance before starting the pre-pay deal, if agreed the balance will be refunded to you on a weekly basis at the rate of 2 hours lesson charge per week.

These calculations are based on how driving instructors earn a living, selling their time, when entered in a contract to provide 10 hours for each new pupil, instructors have to plan their working week to sell enough hours to earn a living, lost hours is a direct loss of their income in planning how many students can be taken on, new students may be turned away because they are expecting to have 20 students at 10 hours at any one time which earns them a living, any student not fulfilling those 10 hours will deprive them of an income.

15. Any pre-pay deal must be completed within 3 months of payment but can be extended if requested and agreed by the school, otherwise no refunds will be made after this period. No refunds will also be made if any prepaid deal have started already.
